International Baccalaureate
World Language Club
I would like to take a moment to introduce myself and let you know what a pleasure it is to have the opportunity to educate your child.
My name is Mrs. Brownell, and I have been teaching Spanish at the high school level since 1994.
I also teach Spanish to elementary students in the summers and in our after school program.
I have a Master of Science degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Spanish. I have a passion for the Spanish language and Hispanic cultures, and I hope to pass at least some of that along to the students.
I am also deeply interested in best teaching practices so that all children get the best education that I can provide.
If you have any questions or concerns about your child's progress, you may contact me by phone before or after school or during my conference period, which is from 8:00 to 8:45AM this year.
The telephone number is 573-346-5651, extension 329. Parents may also contact me via e-mail at wbrownell@camdentonschools.org. My office hours for meeting with students
is Mondays 3:10-3:30PM and Wednesdays 7:45-8:05AM, but I am available before and after school on most days to help students.
If you wish to know more about the International Baccalaureate program at our school, please visit

please see the The Language B Exam Handout. The majority of our students will take the Spanish B Standard Level (SL) Exams. The Spanish curriculum at Camdenton High School is consistent with the requirements for the IB Spanish B courses,
and classroom activities are carefully designed to prepare students for they types of tasks they will be required to perform on the IB Spanish exams.

This year the World Language Club plans to hold a series of International Nights in which a guest from another country will speak to the group about life in his or her native land.
The evening will also include a potluck dinner with foods from the featured country. The World Language Club will meet every Thursday morning at 7:45AM in Room A222.
